Liaison e-Newsletters

February 2013

Looking over the articles in this issue, I'm struck by the power for positive change we can wield when we put our hearts together for a common cause. Please feel free to share this newsletter with anyone who may be interested, and consider copying and pasting the “Intention to Alleviate the Suffering of Exploited Animals Worldwide” onto Facebook or other networking sites. People love to help, so don't hesitate to share this opportunity . . . who knows how many people will forward it, re-post it, share it, like it, and (best of all) perform this month's healing intention for suffering animals.

January 2013

As a child, Fred Rogers would sometimes see scary things in the news, and his mother would tell him, "Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." Time and again, our hearts are broken by tragic events in the news. And time and again, we are inspired and awed by the capacity of human hearts to help and to heal. This newsletter is dedicated to you, the helpers.

December 2012

This edition will be brief, as I just wanted to get a note out about a unique and meaningful way to serve the residents of Newtown, Connecticut. A trauma team is being assembled this week to work in Newtown, and is being headed up by a dear friend of mine, Lori Leyden, Ph.D. Lori is well qualified for this task, having worked since 2007 with orphaned survivors of the 1994 Rwanda genocide. You may recall that the August issue of this newsletter featured an article about her work. Lori and her team will be working with traumatized families and residents to teach energy psychology techniques they can use now and through the years to help process grief, fear, and trauma.

November 2012

As we commence our holiday season with thanks-giving for the abundance of food, friends and comforts we enjoy, we are also acutely aware of aggression in the world and the resulting fear and suffering. Please consider lending your efforts to a TOS Intention dedicated to Hamas-Israeli peace in the middle east.

October 2012

The results of the TOS Intention Experiment are in! From Monday, 8/20/12, through Sunday, 8/27/12, 30-40 or more theosophists came together in a TOS Intention Experiment. Participants performed a once-daily meditation focused on an intent that those who are seeking the light of Theosophy shall find it. The intention emphasized TSA's rich internet resources now available to the public.

August 2012

The TOS Intention Experiment is set to begin tomorrow, Monday, August 20! For those participating, it would be very interesting if you would make note of your experiences as you participate. Did you feel a sense of being part of a group? Did you experience peace? Joy? Did any insights arise? If you would be willing to share your experiences, I will share them with the group anonymously. Following are the details of the experiment:

July 2012

The TOS Intention Experiment I proposed last month is taking shape, so this newsletter will feature the final details for those who would like to participate, though I'll be sending one more email just before we start the experiment.

June 2012

I'm happy to have been hearing from some of you--thanks so much to those who have written to introduce yourselves and share a little about your group. I'd love to hear from the rest of you too, and this newsletter does need stories . . . so don't hold back. This is our place to share with each other. If you know of a great charity or service activity that could be featured (whether or not your group is involved), please do let me know. Or maybe you have a question about service to pose to the group?

May 2012

In last month's newsletter, I introduced myself as the new TOS Liaison Coordinator, and invited you to let me know if there is someone else in your group who has been designated as liaison who should be receiving this newsletter. Appointing a liaison between your TS group and the TOS is a great start in putting theosophical ideals into action.

April 2012

Greetings to all TOS Liaisons and TS Group Leaders! By way of introduction, I'm the new TOS Liaison Coordinator for the TOS in America, and this email is one way in which I'll be staying in touch with TOS Liaisons and TS groups around the country. I look forward to getting to know you, and invite you to contact me with your questions, ideas, stories, challenges, and inspirations.
